The Chancellor of Gunn Christian Academy is responsible for the operation of the academy and will ensure that the mission, goals, and objectives are met.
"Striving for excellence by inspiring, empowering and motivating through a rigorous curriculum, relevant application and relationship building."
To provide a challenging and encouraging learning environment geared toward increasing student achievement through academic and organization innovation.
To guide each student through the process of identifying, developing and achieving individual academic, personal and professional goals.
Student Code of Conduct and Discipline
Chancellor Gunn maintains a reliable, safe, and healthy educational environment that provides each student with the opportunity to maximize his or her potential. Each student will receive a student handbook which addresses specific conduct and discipline rules. In addition, each parent/guardian along with their student will sign a Family Contract that reinforces their agreement to adhere to school policies.
GCA operates on the premise that teachers, parents and students must work together to ensure the student receives a quality education. Parents are vital to this partnership. The Family Contract establishes the school’s expectations of parents and/or guardians in supporting the educational mission of the school.
Students (and their families) are responsible for their own before and after school transportation.
A student must be in good disciplinary and academic standing for enrollment in grades one through twelve for the fall term and all subsequent terms. Our students come from many Metro Birmingham communities and Jefferson county.
Gunn Christian Academy is temporarily located in the Education Wing of Hopewell Baptist Church, 4817 Jefferson Ave., SW, Birmingham Alabama 35221.
